BATMAN MOVIES

We all enjoy Batman movies and funny internet parodies and such.  I thought it might be interesting to see which ones are the best.

here is a list of the batman movies in the order of their release (i'm only putting the ones that are from our generation, there is an old adam west one that i'm not putting on)
post some comments
you can rate the movies, villians, actor playing batman, gadgets, or create another category.

Batman (1989)
michael keaton, jack nicholson
the soundtrack is good, Jack nicholson is awesome as the joker. kim basinger was pretty hot back in her day. also feat. billy dee williams as harvey dent

Batman Returns (1992)
michael keaton, christopher walken, michelle pfeifer, danny devito
all star cast, anything with christopher walken is great, danny devito bits off a guys nose

Batman Forever (1995)
val kilmer, chris o'donnel, tommy lee jones, jim carrey
this was more of a spoof of a batman movie, it did have poison ivy, but she could have been hotter

Batman & Robin (1997)
arnold schwarzenegger, george clooney, chris odonnel
arnold gets top billing, george clooney as batman?  i did have alicia silverstone as batgirl
arnold says cheesy one liners that are amazing as always.  also, bane is in it

Batman Begins (2005)
christian bale, liam neeson, morgan freeman
shows how batman becomes batman, liam neeson is awesome in everything.
batman gets trained by ninjas, kills them, then kills criminals
also i like the scarecrow

Dark Knight (2008)
christian bale, heath ledger, aaron eckhart
this movie is pretty good, explosions everywhere, batman killing folks, random quotes about fearing the night.
regarded as the best batman movie evar

Dark Knight Rises (2012)
christian bale, anne hathaway, sean connery
batman is not in most of it, when he is in it, he's getting tricked or beaten up.
cant understand what the main villain is saying most of the time
cat woman is pretty hot, acquires BATJET!

here is my quickly slapped together order of best movies

#1 Batman Begins
#2 Batman
#3 Dark Knight
#4 Batman Returns
#5 Batman forever
#6 Batman & Robin
#7 Dark Knight Rises

PREVIEWS

last night, Stu, Scotty, and myself went to see Total Recall.  movie was decent enough, pretty much what i expected.  However, the previews were epic and they are all coming up in the next few months

expendables 2. movie looks amazing. all the guys from the 1st are back and they've added jcvd and his cool dancing abilities and chuck norris and his kickass abilities

james bond : Skyfall.  i love the bond movies, the plot is generally ridiculous and complicated, but the stunts are cool, gadgets are neat, women are hot.  i will continue to seem them as long as they are made.  also Daniel Craig is one of the best bond's ever.

Taken 2
dont even have to say anything for this, it looks like the same movie again, which is awesome.
also, his daughter has gotten extremely hot since the last movie

resident evil: retribution
these movies arent always great, but i still love them for the crazy action and video game tie-ins. Leon's in it.  really i'm just excited for the next game.  i hope you can get a gun that shoots quarters

then came an unknown movie.  i haven't seen any commercials or anything for it, but it looks like a must see.

The man with the iron fists.

i know what you're thinking, i saw this movie before, it sucked, it was mortal kombat 2. no, this is a different movie.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1258972/

it looks like attack of the flying guillotine mixed with x-men or something.
the guy can turn his whole body into iron or something (colossus?)

however it is written and directed by RZA.  yes, RZA from wu-tang clan.  but somehow quentin tarantino is involved, i'm sure he wouldnt let rza eff it up too badly.

it does have some hot chicks in it and some real actors.  russell crowe is in it, as well as lucy liu.  mike's fav girl jamie chung is also in it

also Cung Le is in it

while searching for it on imdb, i might have stumbled upon one of the greatest movie titles of all time.  i'm thinking it might be a pron.

Wow I didn't see that one coming.

Rebooted Movies

MOVIES WITH THE MOST REBOOTS (including some TV shows)

Hollywood has been making sequels to movies for years (for proof, see Breakin 2: Electric Bugaloo). It's a quick way to make some money on an existing project. After awhile these sequels become stale and run out of new ideas, so they get a reboot. They get a fresh start, as if none of the other movies happened; A new director, new cast, new special effects that weren’t available when the last series was made. I’ve compiled a list of some of the better known reboots and after we go through them all, we can vote on which gets the title of Most Rebooted Movie.

There are so many series' to review that I can't cover it all in one post, so let's just start with a classic.

Rebooted Series Part one: Superman

YEAR ACTOR TITLE
1951 George Reeves Superman and the Mole Men
Pictured: Superman holding his super binoculars

Awesome quote: You're not going to shoot those little creatures. In the first place, they haven't done you any harm. In the second place, they may be radioactive.
I don't think anyone knows why they started with a Mole Men movie, guess that seemed pretty cool and original in 1951.

1952-1958 George Reeves Adventures of Superman
George did all his own stunts in the show and wore a padded costume to appear more muscular. Often in the show Superman would stand still while bullets bounced from him, but would duck when the bad guy would throw the gun at him.
1978 Christopher Reeve Superman

Other considerations for superman: Warren Beatty, James Caan, Burt Reynolds, Kris Kristofferson, Nick Nolte, Robert Redford, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jon Voight, and Sylvester Stallone. And some others:

I really wanted to edit capes onto these guys, but I didn't have time. So just pretend.

Marlon Brando played Superman’s father, Superdad

To obtain the musculature to convincingly play Superman, Christopher Reeve underwent a bodybuilding regime supervised by David Prowse, the man who played Darth Vader in the original "Star Wars" trilogy.

John Williams wrote the Superman Theme (of course). You can stop humming it now, thanks.

1980 Christopher Reeve Superman II
Superman 2 is widely recognized as the best Superman movie ever created.

General Zod was voted best Superman bad guy of all time by me. Kneel before zod. I have powers beyond reason on this planet. Awesome.
Me and Brad would try to bend the other’s fingers back until the other kneeled and quote this line.

This guy ran for president in 2008, he even has a website that is quite humorous. http://www.zod2008.com/
I should've voted for him, he'd probably have very relaxed gun laws.

1983 Christopher Reeve Superman III

Originally Titled: Superman saves a Black Man, See he's not racist!

Photo: Superman goes out of his way to look up girl's skirts on the train using his x-ray vision.

Superman fights evil Superman and finds out that he was fighting himself all along. This is basically a prequel to fight club.

Worst sales of a Superman movie because it opened 3 weeks after Star Wars Episode 6 (total derp on their part).
The little boy who appears waiting by the photo-booth while Clark Kent changes into Superman was actually the same little boy who played baby Superman in the first Superman.
1987 Christopher Reeve Superman IV: The Quest for Peace
This one was a major flop. Somehow Bizarro Evil Superman gets massive amounts of energy from the sun, too bad we haven’t reached the level of solar energy efficiency that Lex Luthor invented in this movie. The physics behind it are sound, we just need a piece of Superman's hair.
The original plot to this movie was for Superman to go undercover as Lex Luthor after stealing his face. However, those scenes were eventually cut, only these photos remain.

Superman 5 was planned, but cancelled after the Superman 4 did so horrible. Superman was going to fight Muhammad Ali.

1993-1997 Dean Cain Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman

Kevin Sorbo (Hercules) – tried out for the role of superman
2001-2011 Tom Welling Smallville

Basically, superman goes to high school. There are at least 10 seasons of this show. The guy that plays young superman, Tom Welling, is actually 2 years older than the guy who plays adult Superman in Superman Returns (Brandon Routh).

2006 Brandon Routh Superman Returns

Superman Returns could've taken the place of Superman 3. It follows continuity of Superman 1 and 2. It was supposed to have General Zod but the character was later removed, which led to the movie being epic weaksauce.

Billy Zane was considered for the role of Lex Luthor.

Will Smith had a shot at playing Superman, but said, "You mess up white peoples' heroes in Hollywood, you'll never work in this town again!"
2013 Henry Cavill Man of Steel
The most recent reboot features the only Superman not played by an American. One thing you'll notice about reboots, the title eventually changes to another nickname if it's a Superhero movie.

2002 Dwayne Johnson Supe-R-Man

Probably my favorite Superman of all time.

Movie Villains

I thought it was unusual for Patrick Dempsey to be the Villain in Transformers 3. Which made me realize that some actors never take a role out of their comfort zone. They are always the good guy or love interest in any of their movies. I started to make a list of actors that are always the good guy, or actors that have 1 movie that they are the bad guy in. And i'm talking about guys that have been in a lot of movies. Obviously my list won't be complete or accurate, so you guys (Gerry) can tell me what movie I'm missing.

Only a bad guy in 1 movie:
Jet Li - Lethal Weapon 4
Arnold Schwarzenegger - Terminator
Sean Connery - Entrapment
Robin Williams - 1 hour photo

Actors I couldn't think of an evil role for:
Mel Gibson
Tom Hanks
Jackie Chan
Sylvester Stallone (probably wrong on this one)
Harrison Ford

Actors who are always the villain:
Cari Hiroyuki Tagawa (you know him as Shang Tsung)
Malcolm McDowell

So these actors never try a new role, but maybe that's a good thing. Some of them would be terrible if they changed, so the real question is:
Who would be the worst bad guy of all time?

Here are my top 2 candidates.

Tom Hanks
He's the ultimate nice guy. Take his first initial and his last name and you've got "THanks". He's that polite. He's in romantic comedies, he can play a semi retarded man, or a goofy kid in a grown up's body. He can do it all, but could he make you hate him. I doubt it.

Jackie Chan
Look at that smile. He was in a movie called "Mr. Nice Guy". He fights for kid's wheelchair cushions. When he gets access to a ton of money, he donates it to save the children fund. He even tried to save Jennifer love Hewitt's movie career. When he accidentally hurts one of the bad guy's during a stunt, he rushes to his side to make sure he's ok. He can barely stay in character as the good guy, you think he could do it as a bad guy?

Honorable mention:
Will Ferrell

He would make a terrible bad guy. It's hard to take him seriously. Although he was kind of a bad guy in Austin Powers and he hasn't been in enough movies to qualify for this list.

Movies with only 1 Kill

I'm trying to make a list of
Movies where only 1 person is killed by another person, and is the only person to die in the movie.
Natural deaths don’t count and disease/sickness doesn’t count unless someone else causes the sickness on purpose.

Here’s what I came up with. These may not even be right, but I can only think of one person who dies. **spoiler alert**

Rocky III – Mickey

Rocky IV – Apollo Creed (KTFO)

Stir of Echoes?

Gran Turino?

could be good

COULD BE GOOD #2
sucker punch
I'm not sure if you guys have heard about or seen the preview for this movie, but it looks like it has some potential.  the premise is that these girls are in some type of psych ward and have these dreams about doing crazy stuff like blowing things up and shooting guns and fighting giant magical samurai robots.  also did i mention all of the girls are extremely hot.
its directed by zack snyder, he did 300 and watchmen and dawn of the dead remake featuring ving rhames.  300 is amazing, watchmen was ok, but both had cool action scenes ... and nudy scenes, just sayin

also in the preview i saw, the music was pretty cool as well, so it could be a good soundtrack.
