| Fitting, isn't it? |
So because Brad's back I'll talk about it.
Chael Sonnen won.
Well he won the 1st round.
Also that knee was aimed @ his head. No doubt about it but when Anderson threw the knee this was my reaction.
I'm glad Anderson Silva won, but it doesn't leave really leave an option @ 185. Who's left @ 185? I have a short list of fighters who I think are ready to take the next step.
Alan Belcher
Belcher is a rising star, he's young (28), crafty, and has a horrible tattoo on his arm.
Chris Weidman
The kid's 9-0 and has defeated Tom Lawlor, Demian Maia and recently beat Mark Munoz. For those who didn't see Weidman KTFO Mark Munoz, try to find it. Munoz can't seem to catch a break.
Hector Lombard - You might have never heard of him
Hector Lombard is 31-2 but has mostly been crushing can's all around the world, including Bellator. He was offered a contract a few years ago for the UFC, but couldn't secure a Visa (he's from Cuba) and then signed with Bellator a year later. He was the guy they said "Will beat Anderson for the belt". Who knows if he'll get past Tim Boetsch?
Michael Bisping.
Get past Brian Stann in September, and beat 1 of the 3 above = Title Shot. He took Chael Sonnen to a 3 round decision and won 1 of the rounds.
After this list it gets tough because everyone who recently fought just had their stock drop.
Munoz & Chael are back @ the bottom again. I can't see Chael cutting to 185 anymore (he cuts from 245) plus the WWE offered him a contract and Munoz always chokes when it comes to title shots (Okami, now Weidman).
Strikeforce
Like a majority of the time, Strikeforce sucked. But there was 1 good fight on the card. Marquardt vs Woodley. In the 4th round this is how it ended.
Marquardt dropped down to 170 and became the new Welterweight Champion of Strikeforce. Next up, no new challengers.
Other MMA News.
Anthony Johnson will be fighting @ 205.
After years of dropping close to 70 pounds to fight @ 170, Anthony Johnson has decided to start fighting @ 205. The picture below is from when he was going to fight Vitor Belfot @ 185.

Honestly if he misses weight, then this will be my reaction.
TUF: Carwin vs Big Country.
This should be a great season. It won't be live anymore and I think they are switching it to a different night because of ratings. Carwin is brining in Pat Barry as one of his coaches while Big Country is bringing in JDS.
I have no idea who would win this fight right now but they both have had similar opponents. JDS has fought these both (both going to decision) but Big Country absorbed less damage in his fight while Carwin looked an absolute mess.
These 2 have also fought Frank Mir.
Even though it was reported that Big Country had the flu during his fight with Mir, Carwin completely annihilated Mir and knocked him out in the 1st. I mean not everyone ko's Mir in the 1st right?
