Basically, the website for "pacific rim" had a design your own robot feature. You could give it a name and a country. As usual, kids on the internet took it to a whole new level.

by Guillermo del Toro, in which humans pilot gigantic humanoid mechas called Jaegers to fight against colossal monsters.
Following its release and coverage by various websites in May and June of 2013,
many fans used it to generate non-serious Jaegers using a variety of humorous
phrases and nationality stereotypes.

Pacific Rim[3] is

released by the American film production company Legendary Pictures. The film
is set in the 2020s, when Earth is under attack by colossal monsters called Kaiju.
To fight these monsters humanity has created gigantic humanoid mechas called Jaegers.
To promote the film, Warner Bros added a Jaeger Designer app[1] to

May 11th, 2013, which allowed users to customize their own Jaegers alongside
given them a name and a country of origin.

Should have brought this out earlier killed me. It was my main complaint aside from making giant robots that were smaller than the monsters you wanted to kill.
Gayey was probably my favorite one. It's the kind of name you're not allowed to make anymore. The country ones did crack me up. Ready Togo. zing!

I thought the movie was pretty sweet. I mean, it is giant robots fighting increasingly gianter monsters. They are also super cocky. It get's their asses kicked on a regular basis. Brad hated that they flew the planes at "monster level". Almost like we don't have smart bombs, guided missiles, or ships that can hit a car from 10 miles away with a projectile the size of a motorcycle going mach 4. And that is present day tech. They also have fucking swords......but don't realize it until the very end apparently.

ReplyDeleteits the kind of thing a 10 year old would write. the movie had its cool moments. in movies like this, they always have to make our current military look retarded and make all of our current weapons look like kids toys.
